High Noon Horror on a Wooded Backroad

Today, we’re going to switch gears. I want to tell you about something that happened last night at 2:47 AM. It was like every other ordinary night where I’d slowly doze off to sleep. All I remember was the feeling of falling into the abyss. Thrusted into another world that vaguely reminds me of the wretched reality we know to be.

When I gathered my senses, the tall man perched over me, his silhouette covered by the blinding sunlight behind him. He reached his hand out, and I nervously took it so that he could help me up. When I got up, I dusted myself off, and that’s when I saw his face. A rough, scruffy man with a slim jaw, few missing teeth, and that “I couldn't care less” expression locked with a dead-eyed gaze. Almost as if he knew what was lurking in the woods.

These woods seemed familiar, but different somehow, as if it took my memories of my childhood and warped them into this never-ending dirt road.

There was a soft rambling in the far backdrop. From what I gathered at the moment, sounding like twenty guys, bearing their shotguns and rifles close to their chests as if they’re on a witch hunt. Thoughts of being killed here, alone, in the middle of the woods raced through my mind. My focus darted to the old man who helped me up, and when I turned… he was gone. No sound… no warning… and no trace of him at all.

After a few minutes of trying to make sense of this all, I started to head towards the scary men with guns. “Hey, gentlemen, I come in peace,” I shouted with my hand up in the air, signaling I was unarmed.

The men ignored me, as their focus never left the tall grass leading deeper into the woods.

”RUN!” said a voice I heard from behind me.

Now, you’d think I would have common sense and run like Forest Gump being chased by the boys in a truck. No, I decided to turn around…

And that’s when I saw it. This derganged, snarling, wide-grinned demonic canine monster locked its sights on me. The werewolf, with a sick-looking bear-like body, snarled and dug his claws deeper into the dirt road and lunged towards me.

The men surrounded the creature from all directions, but it was enough to get me out of the ravenous beast’s vision. It happened in the blink of an eye, the monster was mere inches from my face, when my body’s reflex took over, and somehow I did a judo-flip roll and kicked the creature into the tall grass.

This pissed it off more…

The men took aim and fired, trying to either shoot me or kill the fanged furry. I tried to run, but when I looked back… it was too late…

The monster had prepared another attack as it reached out with both paws with jagged claws right before I was taken…

I jolted awake.

“Phew… it was only a dream…” I said to myself, with a sigh of relief. The night air stood still as I stared at the ceiling. It was a quarter to 3 AM, and I was slowly drifting back to sleep, that’s when I heard a knock at the door.

Against my better judgement… I went to answer it. “Hello?” I asked *Knock, Knock, Knock*. “Hellooo??” I impatiently said, because I was grumpy from the nightmare. *knock, knock, knock*

I’n an annoyed rage, I thrust the door open and to my surprise… It was the demonic canine creature, two feet away from me…

TO BE CONTINUED…

Holy Moly Batman!

That dream last night was a bit crazy, and I don’t often remember my dreams. When I do, I chalk it up to my vivid imagination. Others, I think it might be the subconscious talking, telling me what needs to be focused on.

Or it could be the fact that on 7/1/26, Mercury is in the gatoraide, CERN shut down their hadron collider (which some think means we’re going back to our original timeline), and we got a full moon. Who knows. I look for patterns and shift attention to the energies, which allows me to be ‘lucky’.

But anyway, if you enjoyed that story and you want to learn how to write your own, unlock your mental capabilities, and come up with the most off-the-wall but genius ideas, let’s collaborate!
